Monteith Park

Monteith Park is a favorite gathering space at the confluence of the Willamette and Calapooia rivers. Most summers, it hosts numerous festivals, concerts, and events that attract thousands of visitors.Today, the park has challenges such as frequent flooding, poor river views and river access, areas that feel unsafe, limited connections with downtown, and few activities besides programmed events.

The new design will help Monteith Park become a greater community focal point. Park features will include an improved stage and event space, a new playground and splashpad, and renovated river piers. Riverbank restoration and removing invasive species and dense vegetation will improve river views and visibility, while better paths and lighting will improve accessibility and safety.
